I bring to my potential employer over 20 years of experience in the areas of Control Systems and Material Handling.
In my current role, I function as a contract employee to US Steel as the Plant Process Manager/ Information Architect at a local ERW pipe mill. My responsibilities include identifying areas of the mill that require process improvement and then defining and justifying the project with respect to production and quality improvements. Upon project approval, I am responsible for the design, integration and deployment of the system. Utilizing a team of both in house personnel as well as outside resources, projects are deployed throughout the mill. These projects have included the installation of a redundant copper and fiber network infrastructure to support the installation of the server farm and PC’s throughout the mill. Projects currently under development include the receiving and tracking of material throughout the facility as well as the reporting of the production and consumption of material.
My oversight of the IT and process departments include ensuring that our IT standards meet or exceed the necessary accountability, accuracy and integrity principles to maintain SOX compliance as defined by USS. I am also responsible for the implementation of the ISO software development process and to ensure that the software life cycle used within this facility closely follows those guidelines as defined by the IEEE Standards.
My former position involved not only design and integration of a variety of systems but also performing sales duties for a selected group of customers requiring a more technical sales approach. As an Application Engineer, I worked closely with both the customer and a portion of the sales team to evaluate the customers need and propose solutions that improve productivity and reduce cost.
I have experience with projects both large ($10 million plus) and small. My expertise ranges from PLC programming, HMI development, Vision Inspections systems, Robotic control, C/C# and Visual Basic programming. I also have knowledge related to Web development, HTML/CSS programming and overall networking. I also have nearly 10 years of supervisory as well as overall project and personnel management experience.
I have attended both classroom and self paced training in the areas of .NET development, PHP, MySQL, Apache TomCat Server environment and Eclipse programming.
